Ruling Party Ideology and Carbon Emissions in South America, 2008–2020 (11 Countries)

This dataset assembles country year indicators to examine whether ruling party ideology is associated with national carbon emissions in South America and through which mechanisms such effects occur. It supports the article “Political Ideology of Ruling Parties and Carbon Emissions in Developing Countries—Empirical Evidence from 11 South American Nations.” The unit of analysis is the country year for eleven South American countries from 2008 to 2020.
