Mpumalanga pit lake metagenomes

This project investigates the biomineralization potential of native urease-producing bacteria isolated from South African coal mine pit lakes. The study focused on the metabolic and taxonomic characterization of bacterial communities capable of microbially induced carbonate precipitation (MICP), a process with potential applications in bioremediation and water quality improvement.
