Comparison of T cell response to S. aureus and E. coli derived virulence determinants using RNA sequencing

We aimed to compare transcriptomic changes in T cells in response to sterile bacterial culture supernatants derived from different E.coli and S.aureus strains. Gene expression was analyzed at two different time points. Overall design: Jurkat T cells were treated with sterile supernatants from bacterial overnight cultures or left untreated as control. Two S.aureus strains (USA300, ST398) and three E.coli strains (536, IHE3034, MG1655) were used. RNA was isolated 1h and 6h after exposure. Three biological replicates per treatment were included.
