Ia io, one of only three bats known to prey on nocturnally migrating birds. I. io preying on nocturnally migrating birds need to face physiological challenges such as low oxygen, digestion, and metabolism. Our study used a high-quality genome of I. io to determine whether and how I. io adapts to the above challenges in genome-level during preying on nocturnally migrating birds.
