Global value chain participation - EU country perspective (FIGARO application)

Global value chain participation is defined as the sum of backward and forward participation. The backward participation is calculated as a share of foreign (EU and non-EU) value added in a EU country's exports. The forward participation is calculated as domestic value added generated in a EU country by other countries' exports, and it is also measured as a share of the EU country's total exports.
