Supplementary Epigraphical Corpus V2: 5 Indus Tablets, Fish and other Sign Variations for Tamil-Brahmi Comparative Analysis

This open-access dataset serves as the primary epigraphical corpus and digital repository supplementing the preprint research article: Main Publication: Deciphering Indus Valley Civilisation Tablets and Seals through the Lens of Tamil Brahmi Script: Further Readings of 5 tablets Primary Publication DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21509842 Overview of Contents Version 2.0.0 Update: Expanded the corpus by adding 5 new Indus tablet inscriptions and a comprehensive catalog of variations for the fish sign and related graphemes to support advanced Tamil-Brahmi comparative analysis. This dataset represents Version 2 (V2) of the epigraphical corpus used to investigate the structural, linguistic, and graphemic continuities between the Indus Valley Script and the Tamil-Brahmi script. This supplementary corpus expands upon the initial release by providing high-resolution data targeted at specific sign variations and newly integrated inscriptions. This update introduces two major components to the dataset: 1. 5 Indus Tablet Inscriptions: Complete epigraphical data for five specific Indus tablets, selected for their high contextual relevance to Tamil-Brahmi structural patterns. 2. Fish and Other Sign Variations: A specialized corpus focusing on the structural mutations, ligatures, and variations of the 'fish' sign (and associated signs). These variations are critical in deciphering. The corpus is organized to facilitate comparative graphemic analysis. Researchers can utilize these variations to test signs against the Dravidian Etymological Dictionary (DEDR) frameworks and early South Indic epigraphy.
