Replication Data for: Redistribution, Inequality, and Household Welfare in China: CHIP Evidence and Micro-calibrated Counterfactuals

This replication package accompanies the article 'Redistribution, Inequality, and Household Welfare in China: Evidence from CHIP and a Micro-calibrated Agent-based Counterfactual.' It provides the files required to reproduce the article’s empirical summaries, calibration diagnostics, tables, figures and agent-based counterfactual simulations, including Python scripts for table and figure generation, replication workflows for the observed and counterfactual redistribution regimes, and the 'ABM_Engine' modules for data loading, moment construction, calibration, simulation and result summarisation. The package is organised to run from the project root directory, with generated outputs saved to the designated 'Tables/' and 'Figures/' folders. Where original CHIP microdata are subject to access restrictions, the archive provides the shareable replication code and permitted processed inputs; users wishing to reconstruct the full workflow from raw CHIP files should obtain the original data from the authorised provider and adjust the relevant data paths accordingly.
