SAFE STRIP Pilot Experiments extensive dataset

This dataset includes messages sent from ORU (On-Road Unit) to RSB (Road Side Bridge) and from RSB to Vehicles. Data has been collected from use-case scenarios implemented in experimental testing pilots in Italy and Spain. Different types of messages are sent by ORU to the RSB. The messages can be divided into two categories based on the way of transmission. There are messages transmitted periodically containing information about the weather road conditions and event-triggered messages containing information related to the detection of a vehicle or pedestrian on the road. ORU's collected information is enhanced with provided information by a multi-sensor connected to the RSB. Apart from the multi-sensor, a control unit placed on the road strain gauges provides information about the road condition to the RSB. Based on the type of vehicles (equipped or non-equipped), RSB communicates with them through appropriate messages sent to ITS-G5 or LTE network (MQTT Broker). A detailed description of the messages mentioned above is given in the "Annex C-data-description-template" file (please refer to the "Virtual VRU protection of Mobile Cooperative safety function in SAFE STRIP" dataset). The RSB log files of various use-case scenarios are available in the "SafeStrip Log Files" folder.
