资源简介:
Smoking is regarded as the world’s greatest preventable cause of death and a significant risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. This study was conducted to compare the heart rate response and heart rate recovery after a six-minute walk test among smokers and non-smokers of asymptomatic young adults. A sample of 376 young adults (188 smokers and 188 non-smokers) aged 18 to 26 years participated in this study. Cardiovascular parameters such as (HR, SPO2, and BP) were recorded at the baseline. All participants underwent a six-minute walk test and their HR and SPO2 were recorded during the six-minute walk test and recorded up to the recovery period after the termination of the test. Blood pressure was measured again after the termination of the test in the first minute, third minute, and sixth minute after the termination of the test.
