Data sets for tree trait-growth relationships in a subtropical forest in Dinghushan

This data set consists of three sheets: one with species name, wood densities and tree sizes (diameters and tree heights) for 24 specie; one with species name, tree sizes, crown size, growth rates and traits for 23 species; one with species name, biomass growth rates, traits, fecundity parameter (F), annual seed production (P), and biomass growth + seed production (M) .In the second sheet, two growth rates were provided: annual diameter growth rate (cm per year) and annual biomass growth rate (g per year). Variables needed for calculating growth rates were also provided. Traits provided include leaf mass per area and a measure of photosynthetic investment (PI), which is leaf mass per area multiplied by crown area.
