This study investigates how UV-inactivated Lactiplantibacillus plantarum BGAN8, an exopolysaccharide-producing probiotic strain, modulates mitochondrial gene expression in intestinal epithelial cells. HT-29 cells were treated with BGAN8, and transcriptomic profiling was performed using RNA-seq. The results demonstrate that BGAN8 significantly upregulates mitochondrial-encoded genes involved in respiratory chain activity, biogenesis, and structural integrity. The dataset supports the emerging role of postbiotics in promoting mitochondrial function.
