All sampling instruments were sterilized and disinfected. The plants were gently shaken from the soil to remove loosely attached soil particles. Alternatively, the rhizosphere soil was scraped with a sterilizing blade and immediately placed in a centrifuge tube containing 20 ml phosphate buffer. After centrifugation, visible impurities and plant tissues were removed before transferring the sample to a 15 ml sterile tube and immediately fixing it with liquid nitrogen for DNA extraction.
