Gene expression analysis using RNA-Seq of dithranol-treated psoriasis

Topical dithranol (anthralin) has remained an effective anti-psoriatic agent. Although dithranol has been used for many years, it has never been fully revealed how dithranol exerts its anti-psoriatic mechanisms.Thus, we studied the therapeutic mechanisms of this drug in serial biopsies from human psoriatic lesions. Overall design: To investigate the effect of topical dithranol treatment on mRNA expression in psoriasis, dithranol-treated psoriasis skin biopsy were analyzed with RNA Seq and compared to untreated psoriasis and non-lesional skin.
