Drought is a major abiotic stress limiting plant growth and crop productivity. Understanding the molecular response of plants to drought is critical to efforts to improve agricultural yields under increasingly frequent droughts. Pear is one of the most important deciduous fruit trees worldwide, the molecular mechanisms of drought tolerance in field-grown pear are still unclear. We provide a field-based transcriptomic study of pear to understand molecular profile of drought response over the growing season.
