Schistosoma haematobium and Schistosoma bovis hybrid parasites with different levels of genetic introgression. Schistosoma bovis

We investigate the trascriptomic changes between Schistosoma haematobium and Schistosoma bovis hybrids with different levels of genetic introgression infecting sheeps, a known natural host of this hybrids. We measured the intensities of infestation in sheep of hybrid worms with different levels of genetic introgression. We had worms 100% Schistosoma bovis, 50% Schistosoma haematobium and 50% S. bovis (hybrids of first generation) ; 75% S. bovis and 25% S. haematobium (backcross with S. bovis) and 75% S. haematobium and 25% S. bovis (backcross with S. haematobium).
