Rapid Multiplex MinION Nanopore Sequencing Workflow for Influenza A Viruses

Due to the genetic diversity, frequent reassortment and zoonotic potential resulting in devastating economic and anthropological impacts, rapid sequencing of influenza viruses is of upmost importance. Alongside established NGS protocols, the MinION nanopore sequencing device (Oxford Nanopore Technologies) has developed to become a serious competitor for whole genome sequencing. In this study, we developed a novel rapid and high-throughput MinION workflow based on a universal RT-PCR and multiplexing of samples.
