Mercury in Yukon Fish

In this study, we are aiming to determine mercury levels in fish that are incidental mortalities of the Summer Profundal Index Netting (SPIN) sampling program that is undertaken by Yukon Government on an annual basis. We hope to develop this into a multi-study, with specific aims that include:1) Determining the magnitude of among-lake variation in key food fish species e.g., Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish and Burbot; 2) Beginning to investigate drivers of among-lake variation - why do some lakes have high mercury levels in fish whereas other lakes have low mercury levels in fish?
