CRSEM vegetation erosion-reduction reproduction data for the Zhimenda basin

This dataset supports reproduction of the vegetation erosion-reduction results shown in Fig.4 for the Zhimenda basin. The vegetation simulations were performed with the CRSEM model code available at https://github.com/MaJiapei/CRSEM. The archive contains full gridded CRSEM inputs and processed Fig.4 inputs. The model input files are zhimenda_dynamic.nc, zhimenda_static.nc, zhimenda_observations.nc, and zhimenda_params_1982_2000_kge_pbias_m120.json. The dynamic driver contains monthly temperature, precipitation, and three NDVI members used in the final analysis: AVHRR_MODIS, NOAA_CDR_ADJ, and PKU_GIMMS_ADJ. The unused AVHRR_GIMMS_ADJ member was removed from the original driver. CRSEM was run under two vegetation scenarios: a real NDVI scenario and a counterfactual baseline-NDVI scenario. Vegetation erosion reduction is defined as E*SDR_counterfactual minus E*SDR_real. The processed workbook zhimenda_vegetation_processed_inputs.xlsx stores the post-processed ensemble outputs used directly by plot_veg_rts_contribution_fig4.py. Expected Fig.4 vegetation results are: full-period cumulative vegetation erosion reduction in 2022 = 27.15 Mt, 95% CI = 18.66-35.64 Mt; annual E*SDR reduction intensity in 2022 = 0.228 t ha-1 yr-1, 95% CI = 0.190-0.267 t ha-1 yr-1. The file rts_sediment_loss_bst_200_SRYaR.pik provides the RTS cumulative sediment-loss time series used for the orange RTS curve in Fig.4.
