Characteristics of Wild Bird Resistome and Its Mediation to Global Dissemination of Antibiotic Resistance Genes

Wild bird serves as important part involved in potential dissemination of antibiotic resistance concerning One Health Concept, however, little information is available on its resistome contributing to the overall dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) on the whole. Here, we characterized the resistome of fresh feces from seven wild bird species and explored their interactions with human activities and surrounding environment. This study provides insight view on wild bird resistome which imply the importance on the global transmission of antibiotic resistance mediated by wild bird particularly in regarding of their high mobility worldwide.
