La Grande Guerra del 1917 nei rapporti tra Italia e Romania

The position of Italy and Romania at the beginning of the First World War revealed many similarities as far as their territorial aspirations were concerned and in the participation with the conflict alongside the Entente. The various war events in 1916 and 1917, which saw Romania surrounded and defeated by the Austro-German armies despite strong resistance, confirmed the attention of the Italian government to the Romanian interests but, as the other Entente powers, it was not able to give concrete help for Romanian emergency. When the war ended, Italy gave again some contribution within the Entente for the formal recognition of the Romanian territorial aspirations
