Going Beyond the Spiritual, Social and Ecological Divides: Tracking Relational Systems Change in Moving from a Needs-based to a Rights-based Approach for Good Shepherd Sisters in Asia

This research explores why the Good Shepherd Sisters face challenges in transitioning from a needs-based to a rights-based approach, and how they navigate spiritual divide (self and self), social divide (self and the other) and ecological (self and whole system) divide to effect relational systems change. My research aims to identify the underlying factors that hinder this transition and explore how GSS can transform into a rights-based and faith-based congregation, using semi-structured in-depth interviews with 23 Good Shepherd sisters and lay partners from Indonesia, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Thailand, and seven are policymakers from Italy and the USA.
