The Messier catalogue is one of the most famous lists of astronomical objects. By creation comma the Messier catalogue contains the brightest and nearest objects of each objects class in the Northern Sky. Therefore comma every extended Messier object is of huge archival value for detailed multi-wavelength studies and most suited to be observed with XMM-Newton. We propose the observation of the missing openParvisibleclosePar objects of the Messier catalogue with an exposure time of 20 ks to establish a legacy data set within the fulfil program of XMM-Newton.
