Dataset for: Complete 1H and 13C NMR assignments of an uncommon 2,3-dihydroxynaphthoquinone isolated from Cordia multispicata (Cham.)

The chemical investigation of the hexane extract from the roots of Cordia multispicata resulted in the isolation of a new terpenoid 1,4-naphthoquinone, (R)-6-[10-(12,12,16-trimethyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-yl]-2,3-dihydroxy-1,4-naphthalenedione (2,3-dihydroxy-cordiaquinone J), along with the known cordiaquinones B and J. The structure determination of the new compound was performed by spectroscopic methods (1H and 13C NMR, COSY, HSQC and HMBC), FTIR and HRMS, in addition to direct comparison with NMR data of similar compounds previously described in the literature.
