RNA-sequencing of Col17a1 tumor isolated from C57BL/6 mice

Expression of COL17A1 mRNA encoding collagen XVII is associated with worse or better patient survival depending on cancer types. However, little is known of the underlying mechanisms of a context-dependent effects of collagen XVII on cancer progression. To test this, a murine pancreatic cancer cell line KPC was transduced with Col17a1-expressing vector (KPC-Col17a1) or corresponding control vector (KPC-vector). Mouse tumorigenicity assay showed that the overexpression of Col17a1 promoted the growth of KPC-Col17a1 tumor relative to KPC-vector tumor in recipient C57BL/6 mice. To explore the mechanisms of how Col17a1 promotes the tumorigenicity of KPC, we performed RNA-sequencing analysis of KPC-Col17a1 and KPC-vector tumors isolated from C57BL/6 mice.
