We isolated the bacterial symbiont of Steinernema kraussei nematodes, which were originally obtained from Becker Underwood Company. We confirmed the bacterium as Xenorhabdus bovienii by 16S and recA sequences. We sequenced the genome using Illumina paired-end reads and assembled the reads in VELVET. The genomes were annotated by MaGe (https://www.genoscope.cns.fr/agc/microscope/home/index.php).
