Data for: Manta ray injury affects cleaner attraction, while cleaning behaviours reflect cleaner number

This dataset contains event-level behavioural observations of reef manta rays (Mobula alfredi) recorded at a cleaning station in the Philippines. The data were used to test whether manta ray injury category is associated with the number of attending cleaner wrasse (Labroides dimidiatus), and whether cleaning behaviours during interactions are associated with cleaner number and injury category.

The dataset includes 278 cleaning events from 96 individually identified reef manta rays. Analyses were conducted at the event level while accounting for repeated observations of the same individual using manta_id as the clustering variable.
