Myanmar - Data in Emergencies Monitoring Household Survey 2021

The FAO has developed a monitoring system in 26 food crisis countries to better understand the impacts of various shocks on agricultural livelihoods, food security and local value chains. The Monitoring System consists of primary data collected from households on a periodic basis (more or less every four months, depending on seasonality).The FAO and the World Food Programme (WFP) launched a Round 2, randomised telephone interviews survey on 9 August 2021 to monitor agricultural livelihoods and food security in Myanmar. Data collection resumed on 9 September 2021. The random sample of 2708 households was representative at the admin 1 level for nine of Myanmar’s states and regions. The survey targeted Mon, Chin, Kachin, Kayin, Kayah, Rakhine, Shan (excluding the south), Ayeyarwady and Yangon, and was complemented by interviews with agricultural input dealers and food traders.
