This dataset provides a comprehensive mapping of seasonal urban greenspace for cities globally, covering the period from 2018 to 2024. It is derived from the 10 m resolution Dynamic World Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) dataset. Methodology: Urban greenspace was defined as the aggregation of three vegetation-related classes from the Dynamic World classification: trees, grass, shrub, and scrub. To capture seasonal dynamics, Dynamic World observations were aggregated by meteorological seasons—spring, summer, fall (autumn), and winter—for each year within the study period. A key aspect of this processing involved accounting for hemispheric differences in seasonal timing. Specifically, data were downloaded based on Northern Hemisphere seasons. For cities located in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasonal assignments were subsequently adjusted to ensure temporal alignment with local climatic seasons. All data were integrated into the Global Urban Boundaries (GUB) shapefiles for the reference year 2018, providing a consistent spatial framework for urban extent across the time series. Content: The dataset contains seasonal greenspace metrics (proportion and human exposure) for each city from 2018 to 2024, allowing for analyses of intra-annual vegetation dynamics and inter-annual trends within urban environments.
