Root Tensile Strength Data from Mississippi River Delta Plain Sites

This dataset contains tensile strength (TS) measurements of live Spartina roots collected from four marsh sites in the Mississippi River Delta Plain (MRDP), spanning active and inactive basins under saline and brackish conditions. Roots were tested using a motorized tensile tester, and tensile strength was normalized to cross-sectional area (MPa) to enable comparisons across diameter classes and soil depths.
