Early-type galaxy evolution in groups: the intriguing case of NGC 4756
收藏资源简介:
Any understanding of the evolution of groups and their members, which ultimatelymeans the evolution of all galaxies, cannot be complete without detailed studiesat Xray wavelengths, that probe the properties of the IGM and the interplaybetween galaxies, ISM and IGM. We propose here to observe an intriguingenvironment representative of a unique accretion scenario, possibly resultingfrom parallel evolution of two distinct subcondensations associated with NGC4756. We aim at 1) quantifying when and how substructures and earlytypemembers evolve their own Xray halo and 2) determining the role of the hot IGMin regulating galaxy activity (star formation and/or AGN). truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
