The onset time needed for the overturn of IBC modeled by the theory of Rayleigh-Taylor instability in Cartesian coordinate. We modeled the temperature profile of lunar mantle before the overturn phase by using heat conductive equation. The onset time, or the reciprocal of RT instability growth rate, is modeled by the the scaling law proposed by Hess and Parmentier (1995). We assigned the mu_IBC with the volumetrically average viscosity of the IBC layer, and the mu_m with the viscosity at the IBC-mantle boundary.
