This study investigates the mechanism of DNA demethylase augments RNA-directed DNA methylation. We identified the expression of CLSYs involved in the RdDM pathway were affected by DNA demethylase. Furthermore, our results suggest a conserved regulatory role of DNA demethylation pathway on the RdDM pathway in plant by affecting the expression of different members of the CLSY gene family.
