This is an experimental study with the objective of investigating the preventive effects of black corn flour as a source of anthocyanin on the intestinal heath in C57BL/6 mice fed a high-fat diet. Despite bioactive components, isolated or in its whole matrix, have shown to alleviate intestinal changes promoted by a high-fat diet, it is not understood the effects of the bioactive compounds, mainly anthocyanin of the black corn flour on gut microbiome of male C57BL/6 mice. This study can help to identificate new strategies to improve the gut health based on the black corn flour consumption.
