Survey data and questionnaire: Agroecological practice awareness and implementation among tomato stakeholders in Romania (2025)

This dataset supports the manuscript "Who knows and who grows: stakeholder knowledge profiles structure agroecological transition in Eastern European vegetable systems" (submitted to Agronomy for Sustainable Development).The dataset comprises 289 completed responses to a cross-sectional online survey administered in Romania between June and August 2025, targeting consumers, hobby gardeners, and small commercial farmers involved in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cultivation. The survey examined agroecological familiarity, awareness and implementation of five agroecological practices (mulching, companion planting, intercropping, vermicompost use, and microbial inoculants), perceived barriers to adoption, and willingness to pay a price premium for agroecologically produced tomatoes.The repository contains: (1) the raw survey dataset in xlsx format; (2) the original questionnaire in Romanian (PDF).The survey instrument was originally developed by Vicențiu Daniel, MSc student, Faculty of Horticulture, USAMV București, as part of his dissertation research, and subsequently used with his permission for the present study.No personally identifiable information was collected.
