Climate Diplomacy Corpus (2010-2019)

This dataset contains a corpus of 1,688 official statements delivered by representatives of all countries participating in the annual Conferences of the Parties (COP) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) between 2010 and 2019. The statements were collected from publicly available UNFCCC records and include interventions made during High-Level Segments, Opening Plenaries, and Leaders’ Events. The corpus was constructed to support research on how government ideology shapes foreign policy preferences in multilateral climate negotiations. It was used in the working paper “Green for the Right Reasons? How Government Ideology Shapes Preferences over Climate Politics in the Global South.”
