Medical students' attitudes to psychiatry before and after clerkship: a multicentre observational study in regional Queensland

Title: De-identified dataset: Medical students’ attitudes to psychiatry before and after clerkship: a multicentre observational study in regional Queensland Description: This dataset contains de-identified survey responses from Year 5 MBBS students at James Cook University (Cairns, Townsville, Mackay sites) assessing changes in perceptions of psychiatry using a modified Attitudes Toward Psychiatry questionnaire. Data collected pre- and post-6-week mental health rotation. This dataset has been de-identified prior to deposit. Direct identifiers were removed, exact age was recoded into age bands, and free-text comments were reviewed to reduce identifiability. Supports replication of analyses on pre-post changes, site differences (e.g., Kruskal-Wallis on stigma items). Variables: Demographics (binned age, sex, site, prior experience); Likert-scale items across domains (scientific merits, treatment efficacy, stigma, medical school inspiration); post-rotation items (rotation impact, career influence).
