Hydropower was responsible for approximately 10.1 percent of the overall electricity generation in Mexico in 2022. Throughout the last twelve years, the share of hydropower over the total electricity production in the North American country fluctuated between 7 and 13 percent. In 2022, the hydropower capacity in Mexico was within the largest in Latin America and the Caribbean.
