There are ten letters in all, about the following matters: 51/1 (ref. Inletter 51/6342): The Government Emigration (sic) Agent to the Colonial Secretary: Relative to a charge under the provisions of the Passengers Act 1849 preferred against the master of the Brig "Antares" by the Emigration (sic) Agent at Hobart Town; 51/2: Suggesting the issue of a Proclamation respecting the Passengers Act; 51/3 (ref. Inletter 51/7068): Reporting on letter from the Manager of the Australasian Steam Navigation Company relative to the expediency of exempting the Steam Vessels of that Company from the operations of the Passengers Act 1849; 52/1: Furnishing information relative to the mode adopted in this Colony for carrying out the provisions of the Passengers Act 1849; 53/1 (ref. Inletter 58/7495): Returning letter from Colonial Secretary, Victoria, reporting irregularity occasioned by the non-enforcement in Vessels sailing from Sydney of 13th Section of Passengers Act; 53/2: On the subject of Spirits having been sold to the Passengers per "Royal Stewart"; 54/1: Making certain inquiry respecting a ship called the "Jannettye"; 55/1: Relative to complaints made by the Steerage Passengers of the American Ship "Georges"; 56/1: Forwarding the Act of Parliament 18 and 19 Vict. Cap 119 and a Proclamation founded thereon for insertion in the Government Gazette; 56/2 (ref.
