It can be preserved via -80°C refrigerator freezing or vacuum freeze-drying methods. After 3 days of incubation at 25°C in YM liquid medium, the cells are oval-shaped with a size of 2.7-4.4 × 2.7-5.5 μm. Its asexual reproduction mode is multilateral budding, and it forms pseudohyphae. When cultured on YM agar plates, its colonies are circular, tan-colored and non-convex. It forms ascospores after 7 days of cultivation on corn meal medium, with 1-4 ascospores produced in each ascus. The Genbank accession numbers are JN601665 (26S rDNA D1/D2 region) and JN601666 (ITS region). This strain is capable of ethanol fermentation.
