资源简介:
Trichoptera (caddisflies) play an essential role in freshwater ecosystems, for instance, larvae filter nutrients from the water and are food for a variety of other predators. Their genomes aid comparative and phylogenetic studies allowing scientists to better understand trichoptera's evolutionary history. Trichoptera are the most diverse, mostly semi-aquatic insects. However, all previously published, long read, high fidelity trichoptera genomes are from the Annulipalpia suborder. The only Integripalpian genome published to date, Limnephilus lunatus, was sequenced using only short read, Illumina sequencing and has low contiguity. We report the first long read based de novo genome assemblies of two intergripalpian Trichoptera, Agrypnia vestita HAGEN and Hesperophylax magnus BANKS. The Integripalian genomes have a higher percentage of expansive repeats showing the importance of using long read sequencing. These genomes will help expand our understanding of the integripalpian suborder and aid future comparative genomic studies.
