This is calculated after each hour as the sum of the system balance from the start of the gasday including the latest finished hour. The ASB is the basis for the yellow zone trades. API Request Frequency \ To get the most up-to-date data, calling the API with a dynamic timestamp such as start=now-PT3H is a good approach. Making a few requests hourly is sufficient to ensure getting the latest data.
