Filtered Dataset and Edge List (Virtual Reference Services through X) 2020-2024

This study explores the development of virtual reference services (VRS) on X (formerly Twitter) through interactions between librarians and users via the official account of National Library of Indonesia, @perpusnas1. The analysis covers the period from 2020 to 2024, starting with the launch of VRS during the COVID-19 pandemic and extending into the post-pandemic era. Using Social Network Analysis (SNA) and the Social Construction of Technology (SCOT) framework, the study examines changes in network structure, participation patterns of key actors, and how VRS evolved over time. A total of 13,944 tweets were extracted using Twitter Search Export (TWSE), with 5,280 identified as reference-related. Findings show that while the network size decreased, connections among actors became stronger. Librarians, educators, and civic users emerged as central participants.
