Whole Rock Geochemistry of 2.8 Ga Western Yilgarn Rocks

Geochemical data for Mesoarchean volcanic and shallow level intrusive rocks. Relates to the 2.8 Ga evolution of the Yilgarn craton and the issue of mantle plume versus subduction related geodynamics. The author favours a subduction or plate tectonic origin with similarities to Neothethyan ophiolites. Rock types include boninitic volcanics, High-Fe basalts, High Magnesium Basalts, picrites and related cumulate rocks and Alaskan-type intrusives. The project was supported by the Australian Research Council and the Geological Survey of Western Australian. The data will appear as part of the survey's larger geochemical data WACHEM.
