Coding of Indonesian municipal government tourism brochures

This data set is the spreadsheet containing coding from tourism brochures of municipalities across Indonesia. We covered 40 regencies and cities all over Indonesia used brochures taken from official websites and social media account. This sampling strategy resulted in total 3027 pictures and 73 covers from regencies/municipalities in several islands.

The current study collected brochures published by 40 regencies/municipalities of Indonesia through APKASI or Asosiasi Pemerintah Kabupaten Seluruh Indonesia (Association of All Indonesia Regency/Municipal Governments) 2020 annual trade show held in Jakarta Convention Center. The research project also collected tourism official websites from four provinces in the eastern part of Indonesia. This was an ideal setting to collect the sample because of the information available and gathering of sources of total 345 regencies/municipalities of Indonesia.

The sampling strategy resulted in total 3027 pictures and 73 covers from regencies/municipalities in several islands, e.g. Sumatera (27.5%), Java (17.5%), Borneo (15%), Sulawesi (17.5%) and the remaining were from East Indonesia (22.5%).
