Ficedula hybrid males reproductive success

This file describes data collected on hybrid males in the field from 2010 to 2012 on the island of Öland, Sweden. It gives information on the nestbox where the bird was breeding, his species, the genetic species after genotyping, the species of the female the hybrid male paired with, information of previous chicks recorded for those females, the number of chicks in the nests of hybrid males and information on the hybrid male's paternity, the number of unhatched eggs collected, the presence or absence of sperm on the perivitelline layer of unhatched eggs and the presence/absence of sperm in the ejaculates. DNA analyses were performed from blood samples, ejaculates and unhatched eggs were preserved in formalin and the perivitelline layer of unhatched eggs was scanned for sperm using fluorescence microscopy.
