The intersection of medical and natural science– Practice and reflections on lecturing of the infectious disease transmission modeling

In order to promote the deep cross-integration of medical and natural science in the field of public health, cultivate interdisciplinary talents in public health, and comprehensively improve capacity building for forecasting, warning, prevention and control of infectious diseases in China, the Department of Epidemiology at the School of Public Health of Fudan University systematically introduced the infectious disease transmission modeling into the course of vaccinology towards graduate students. It provides ideas and reference for setting up infectious disease modeling course independently in the future. This article introduces the course background and objectives, content, teaching methods, and teaching resources, summarizes and analyzes the evaluation of teaching effect, and discusses the ideas of optimizing the course of infectious disease transmission modeling, which provides reference and practical experience for the teaching exploration from the perspective of " cross-integration of medical and natural science ".
