Water samples were collected with free-flow niskin bottles connected to a CTD rosette. Metagenome reads were generated with Illumina HiSeq 2500. DNA and RNA were extracted using AllPrep DNA/RNA Kit from QIAGEN (Hilden, Germany). Sequencing was done with SciLifeLab (Metagenome; Illumina HiSeq 2500; Stockholm, Schweden).
