Human skin virome as a forensic investigation technique

This study aims to examine the diversity, stability, and transferability of human skin viruses and assess the forensic applicability of the virome. For this study, metagenomic samples of the skin virome were collected from eight individuals. Virome samples were collected from the foreheads and both hands of each individual at three-time points at a six-week interval. Additionally, virome transferred from the skin were collected from four different contact objects, and their sequences were analyzed.
