Genome sequencing of a Chelativorans intermedius strain MRo-MP. Chelativorans intermedius strain MRo-MP

Chelativorans intermedius strain MRo-MP is a novel aerobic, moderately thermophilic, organotrophic bacterium inhabiting in microbial mat (Tautona goldmine, South Africa). The cells of the novel strain are motile, non-sporulating rods. The isolate was able to use yeast extract or glucose as a substrate. Phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences of strain MRo-MP and relatives showed its affiliation with the genus Chelativorans. C. intermedius was its closest relative (99.9 % identity of 16S rRNA gene sequences). This study is aimed to give genomic insights into important metabolic features of the isolate.
