Fecal microbiota of mice in Morris water maze task. mouse gut metagenome

One hundred male C57BL6/J mice underwent the Morris water maze task, and the mice were categorized into high-, middle- and low-ranking groups (n = 5 each) based on behavioural test score of the Morris water maze task, and their feces were collected. Another 20 male C57BL6/J mice were randomly divided into 2 groups (n = 10 per group) and treated with streptomycin or vancomycin and underwent the Morris water maze task. Their feces were collected and fecal bacterial DNA was extracted. The V1-V2 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene was amplified by PCR. Next-generation sequencing were performed using an Ion PGM system.
